Essay topic: 'If the world spoke the same language, there would be fewer conflicts and wars.'
Is it really possible that the world speaks the same language? Let's think about it: if the world spoke the same language, there would be fewer conflicts and wars and I totally agree with this sentence, but, unfortunately, I have to be realistic... That's why, first of all, I have to say that it's hard to believe that all the people around the world could speak the same language, because it would be difficult for some people to accept and to learn a different language than their own.
In my opinion I consider that what's most important is not the body of the language, but its spirit and I think all the people should believe in the language of Love, a language of kindness and of hope. Neither the language of humans, nor the language of any kind of animals, not even the language of angels is as important as the language of Love and that is written in the Bible. Love is a Temple, an Ark on the sea of passions that never sinks. Love has no depth and no height, it's endless. We are born here on this Earth to learn to love again, to forgive and to fall in Love with everything we are, therefore, when we are born, life starts with a fall. There is an old saying in Latin: 'Homo sum, humani nihil a me alienum puto', which means that 'I am human and nothing human is alien to me'. I think that in the modern society of nowadays, because of the rhythm of development of the society at all the levels, many people could consider this as their life motto. A person's goal should not be to fall in Love always, but to be in Love always, in order to become Love, to become One with the loved one. You have to fall in love once, but you have to be in love always. That's true love, I think. Here it's the mystery! Here it's the key to real peace!
They say that we have as many hearts as many languages we speak, but I believe that , no matter how many languages a person speaks, he only has one heart because he has just one tongue, properly, to express them all. Nevertheless, it's true that speaking a foreign language can change you, make you feel like a native, but never give up your sources, because there is your strength.
It''s utopian to believe in a world that would speak the same language, because no people would give up to its language, history and customs for another language, unless forced and that means war. But, on the other hand, there is no doubt that if the world spoke the same language, there would be fewer conflicts and wars, because it would no longer exist a war for supremacy.
Nowadays there is a war for supremacy between peoples and languages. English is spoken in more than one hundred countries, but Mandarin has the most speakers (Asia, China). It's all politics. Which one is the easiest one to learn, or the most attractive, or the most well known? In the XIX-th century and at the beginning of the XX-th it was French the most well known (it was spoken in Romania too, that's why Bucharest was called the 'little Paris'. It still is and for some other reasons), but now it is English while French is still the most sensitive language, 'la langue de l'amour' which means the language of love, but it's not quite the language of love, cause love doesn't need words to be expressed. It simply exists! It is what It is without words. It's speechless.
Let's remember also the artificial language created at the end of XIX-th century by Ludovic Lazar Zamenhof: Esperanto (epo), the language of hope, an easy language to learn, but not very catchy - it's spoken by only two or three million people all around the world. Is it enough? I don't think so.
In conclusion, I have to remember the words of Mother Theresa: 'If we have no longer peace, it's because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.' Therefore, dear friends, if we want unity, all we need is to love, to believe and to hope and peace and unity will come to us. 'Make love, not war!'
